I always wanted to make things simple, and as a Requirements Manager I am able to help others by solving problems and making their jobs easier.
What events, prior employment, or educational experiences led you to your current job?
My Bachelor’s degree, additionally 2 years diploma in computer science and several years of leadership experience and Health & Human services knowledge led me to the current job.
What schooling, education, and/or certifications did you complete to prepare you for this career?
Bachelors degree from Delhi University, 2 years Diploma from NIIT.
How did you make the best use of your time in both your education and career?
Graduate degree equipped me with practical skills and knowledge that I can apply at my workplace. I enhanced my soft skills like communication, teamwork, critical thinking, and problem solving.
What advice would you give to a high school or college student interested in pursuing this field of work?
Enroll in the Information Technology segment of your choice. Be inquisitive, collaborate, check what’s the new buzzword in IT, be adaptive, lookout for internships.
What opportunities would you suggest high school students participate in?
Lookout for internships, enroll in summer programs, volunteer opportunities, form clubs, work on your soft skills.
What opportunities did you take as a student that helped advance your career (research, internships, etc.)
Attended coding camps, connected socially with people from different spheres of Information Technology and self-paced learning from material available online as well as through physical books.
What do you wish you had done differently with regards to your career/education?
I should have gone in additionally for a Master’s Program.
What does a typical day at your job look like?
In my typical day, I oversee that business requirements are captured properly, stories are detailed and written clearly, Test cases and scenarios cover the entire scope of the stories. Proper coordination happens between Business Analyst, Testers and Development team. Currently managing CJAMS (Child Juvenile And Adult Management System) program.
What was a surprising aspect of your job?
Surprising aspect is that I had the opportunity to work in different programs which is under the larger umbrella of things.
What qualities are necessary to be successful in your field of work, and why?
Positive attitude, adaptability, communication skills and knowledge of the industry.

If you think you can, you will. Never stop chasing your dreams.
